This farm and its 422 rolling acres located in central Michigan has been family owned and operated for 170 years. Our son Ryan is the 6th generation Powell to live and work here. We are not just the owners and managers, but the fence builders, hay crew, bookkeepers, barn cleaners and cow handlers-just like you. For more than 40 years, we have been driven to breed high-quality cattle, backed by the world's most elite A.I. bulls and extensively utilizing E.T. technology along with accurate and dependable data and exceptional customer service that will serve in the best interests of our industry. We have maintained a discipline and dedication to our principles and not held to chase after the next "trait fad" that happens to have captured the attention and popularity of the purebred industry at any given time. Our 50 cow base herd is foraged managed and maintained with a "commercial man's perspective" in mind. Superior females are the backbone of our program. We are especially proud of our 14 Pathfinder cows.
We also take full responsibility as seed-stock producers with our stewardship of the breed and dedication and integrity to our customers. Our cattle are free of all genetic defects recognized by the American Angus Association.
